Her mother and father owned a small caf\'e9 and been musicians they entertained their guests. From age 5 Celine joined the rest of the family and sang in weekends at the cafe and soon developed at taste for performing. At age 12 Celine, together with her mother and a brother, wrote her first song. A song which later would change the course of her career and life In 1981, a demo-tape containing the song Celine wrote as 5-year-old came to the attention of Rene Angelil, a well-respected manager in Canada. He soon felt in love in celine's voice and same year he mortgaged his house to finance the production of Celine's debut album. Celine soon became a major artist in , winning canadian and french recognition and several awards. In 1988, Europe and the rest of the world got the first tast of her talent, when she participated the annual Eurovision Song Contest for Switzerland broadcasted to the whole of Europe, Russia, the Middle-East and Australia, and won. So anxious of becomming a part of the international music-scene, she learned English in three months at a language course and her real international break-through came when she together with Peabo Bryson sang the theme-song to the animated Disney-movie "The Beauty and the Beast". From that on Celine, with the expertise of Sony Music, launched an international career with the album "Celine Dion". Since then, Celine has won countless awards and prizes and broken new grounds such as introducing French songs to the main-stream global audience. In December 1994 she married Rene Angelil, who had become her manager.
